Got to give it up, But not today

Today is the first day that I dared to venture out of the house without wearing my snow boots, it felt good to just slip on a pair of shoes and go.  The rain has washed away quite a bit of snow so it’s almost manageable now, I am so grateful!

It’s blazer day over at EveryBody, EveryWear so I pulled out….you guessed it, my new best friend, the camel blazer.  I do have other blazers I could wear but I am loving the versatility of it right now. The moment I saw it on the hanger, I knew it would become an indispensable piece of clothing to my wardrobe. It’s a classic cut in a classic, never go out of style color…what’s not to love? so I promise to not wear it for the next 7 days…maybe. Underneath I have a navy v-neck sheath with pockets (oh how I love a dress with pockets) and a skinny patent leather animal print belt at my waist.  I also busted out the leopard print Steve Madden pumps to funk it up a bit since the jacket and dress are very traditional. Around my neck is a necklace I’ve had forever, I got it from Avon, I hardly wear it because I simply forget I have it.  I am loving this combination, it is classic enough for work and ministry but jazzed up with a dose of ME! I was trying to figure out how I was going to style the blazer since it is the star today, and this dress told me to try her out, lol so I did and I am glad.  My son gave the final stamp of approval since I run my outfits by him when he’s home, he tells me the truth but in love…not like my evil daughter who just spews out her opinion like hot lava on soft, supple skin.  Hop on over to see how the rest of the EBEW crew are styling their blazers today.

One of my co-workers slash photographers (I have 2 work photographers, lol) wants his 15 minutes of fame, so I am formally giving him his due…photo credits by Richard.

Go forth and please….Be stylish
